Aspect ratio

Color & resolution

Width-to-height ratio — e.g. 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 9:16.

16:9 is YouTube and widescreen, 9:16 is Reels/Stories/TikTok, 1:1 is the Instagram feed square, 4:5 is Instagram portrait. When cropping, the aspect ratio drives composition.
